Praia do Paraiso is located just west of the center of Carvoeiro. A white staircase leads you along the cliffs to this hidden bay. It is not easy to reach. The descent is steep and is not suitable for the elderly or disabled. In contrast to the busy city beach, you will find more room for privacy here. In this place you become one with the sand and the light blue water. At the top of the cliff you will find a chic restaurant that offers you a beautiful sea view in addition to delicious dishes and good wine. The beach is located 1.9 km from Villa Vale a Pena and can be reached on foot if you are simply mobile and have an average fitness level.


PRAIA DO CARVOEIRO – VILLAGE BEACH – 2,1 KM FROM VILLA VALE A PENA

As a Blue Flag beach, Carvoeiro has a seasonal lifeguard service and also has good accessibility features. The beach is popular with all kind of people and also easy to enter the beach for people with less mobility or elderly people.

Once, just a typical Algarve fishing village nestled in a valley and flanked by high limestone cliffs, Carvoeiro is now a popular, ever expanding resort town. That said the beach is still the focus of the town and this area retains much of its charm.

Whitewashed, terracotta-tiled villas and cottages cling to the cliff sides forming a kind of amphitheatre with all eyes on Carvoeiro’s prime asset – the beach.

The Praia do Carvoeiro is a smallish sweep of fine golden sand sheltered by high, ochre cliffs to either side. Having the bustling resort spilling onto the beach means there is no shortage of facilities here. You will have no problem finding a restaurant or cafe and public showers / toilets are also available.


PRAIA DOS CANEIROS – 4,1 KM FROM VILLA VALE A PENA

Not far from Lagoa, near the eastern estuary of the Rio Arade, is the Praia dos Caneiros. Surrounded by high cliffs, the bright sandy beach offers some special features. A stylish snack bar and cocktail bar await you at the entrance with delicious refreshments. You can also have them served on the noble sunbed directly on the beach. Families and young swimmers enjoy the Portuguese sun on the large sandy area of Praia dos Caneiros and a refreshing cool down in the Atlantic water, which gives access to another bay at low tide.
